Last week and the week before I taught our relationships Bible class how to understand and relate better to the opposite sex. I also got to spend time with our Women of Worth Bible class on the same topic this week. This pretty much finishes up for the extra presentations this year but still enjoy leading a Senior topics Bible class discussion group and our father/son breakfast on Fridays.

Here’s a thank you from a student that I received permission to share. It really made my day! It also humbled me.

Mr. Johnson,

I admire you and really respect you as a teacher and man of God.

Thank you for sharing applicable information in our [relationships Bible] class and for
having a true heart to pass down ways to love and respect men and women. People
need to hear these things more and I am glad to hear/learn more about respecting guys.
Thank you, also, for telling us girls that we are beautiful and worth it.

I know how many girls compare [themselves with others] and desire [to always be in]
control and that was me. Thank you for emphasizing how we, too, (not just the guys!)
have battles in life and must guard our hearts and thoughts.

[snip] I know a lot of girls who struggle with image issues and feeling worthless and ugly.

THANK YOU SO much! Girls really do feel loved when they hear that they are worth
    something.

[name withheld]

P.S. Thanks for working with the network and computers!

It was a very nice day but a little hot. Malia’s team played well and ended up with one win and two loses. I posted a few pictures from her games here.

Trevor graduated with David and then came back to take my place for a year and then worked with me once I came back.

Here is an update news article that I believe displays the depth of faith and character of the Powell family and Aimee’s church. They are a truly remarkable family. I feel so honored to call the Powell family my friends. May God continue to give them comfort and grace to live each day.

I presented in our Relationships Bible class for most of last week. The topic was MEN AND WOMEN: WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? We talked about things that are generally (but not always) true about differences between men and women in physiology, behaviors, felt needs, communication styles, motivations, responses to unmet needs, etc. I'm getting reports back from parents and students that some light bulbs are turning on and they are really enjoying learning how God has created us with each having unique strengths and unique challenges.

Next week we will be tying it together and dealing with how to date right. Pray that the information is useful and helpful to students. My desire for the students is that they can do this right, marry well and create a godly legacy in their families without carrying lots of unnecessary hurts and regrets into the future.

I may also be presenting in our Women of Worth Bible class in the near future. What and when isn't finalized yet.

Seth is now about 3 weeks old. This weekend Beckie has been joined by Andrea and Stacie at David and Leah's house. They are enjoying so much having the chance to spend time together with Seth.

Beckie will return to Taiwan in a week (March 7). That will bring a good deal of joy to Malia and I. She's very missed around here but we are delighted she's been able to have this time with David, Leah and Seth. They have pictures posted of Seth at
http://davidandleah.johnson-taiwan.net.
