Riding Lessons and Changed Plans
The plan was to spend most of Easter vacation packing and getting our “home assignment” physicals. The physicals took most of two days. We learned that the physical therapy Dwight had after his shoulder surgery last August didn’t get the job done so now he’s having therapy for frozen shoulder 3 times per week.
Sunday we met Chinese friends, Raymond and Tiffany at a local tea house.

Tuesday night, friends from Chiayi came and spent the night, and we went to the local science museum on Wednesday. It’s free if you get there before 10:00 AM.
Thursday was supposed to be our uninterrupted day to pack but plans changed. Wednesday night, Beckie received a phone call from a couple in the US. They are being assigned a baby boy to adopt that was born in our town last Friday. They needed someone to go to the hospital to pick up the baby and serve as foster parents asap. So again Beckie was on the phone looking for options and working out details. Thursday morning, while chatting on Skype with this adoptive mom, the birth mother of another little girl we helped get into a foster family called and said she was at our front gate and was hoping to see her daughter. After several phone calls to figure out what to do, the foster mom brought the baby to our house, and visited here with the birth mom for about an hour. Friends are serving as foster parents for both of these little ones.
Most everyone else here takes a “real” vacation so not wanting Malia to feel too gypped we treated her to a couple of days of fun. This was a lot cheaper than taking a trip to the beach.
First, was a surprise riding lesson followed by the movie Horton Hears a Who. We headed to Chili’s for dinner where we shared a plate of Chili Fries and a Molten Chocolate Cake.
Life is GOOD! HE IS RISEN -- and that makes all the difference.
