David proposed to his girlfriend, Leah, Friday night. He had told us about a week ago that he was going to, so it was exciting news to hear.  They met in a small group Bible study. A date has not been set but they are thinking late June or early July as we had already planned to visit them in Florida at that time.  We have only talked with Leah (and her family a bit) over video-chat, so we'll look forward to actually meeting them.  Andrea, Stacie & Daniel met Leah and her family last summer when they spent 10 days in Florida with David.  We all think they are wonderful and we couldn’t be happier!

Leah (Fernandez) is 20, the oldest of 4 kids.  Their mother died almost 2 years ago of a brain tumor.  She was an amazing mother and wife.  Leah has stayed home since her mom died to help run the house, cook, clean, take her brother to school, etc, and has been taking online classes through Belhaven College.  She has a brother Stefan who is in his first year of college (physically at Belhaven), Tara is 16, and a junior in high school, and Tomás is 13 and in 7th grade.  Leah's dad, Al, is engaged to be married as well. He and Carla will exchange their vows on our anniversary--March 15!  So David and Leah will have an easy time remembering the date of both parents’ wedding anniversary.
